Adventure,
by the pack.
Pack 129 is a boys-only Cub Scout pack for Cedar Lake families with sons in kindergarten through fifth grade. We hike and camp, and we build pinewood derby cars at the kitchen table. We make sure nobody's new scout stays new for long.
What a year looks like
A pack year is mostly small afternoons, plus a few days your son won't forget. Here's what's on the calendar.
Pinewood Derby
Every scout gets a kit, a block of pine, and a weekend with a grown-up to build a car. Race day is loud and fast, and it ends with an awards ceremony.
Raingutter Regatta
Scouts build tiny sailboats and race them down a rain gutter full of water, blowing as hard as they can to provide the wind. Simple and silly.
Blue & Gold Banquet
Our big end-of-year dinner. Awards for the whole pack, a crossover ceremony for the Arrow of Light scouts, and a potluck.
Plus campouts, hikes, Scouting for Food, and the Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades.
Dens and ranks
Pack 129 has six ranks from kindergarten through fifth grade. Your scout joins the den for their grade and grows with the same group of friends year after year.
Coming up
Visitors are welcome at every pack-wide event — just show up. Den meetings are for registered scouts, but reach out and we'll line up a visit.
